July 31 Update: "Nothing is happening".... *snort* buhahhahahah!!! Oh, and more info about Iraq

As I mentioned yesterday in the Charts article, the most awesome research team in the world have dragged some brilliant pieces of information and links into the spot light.  I haven't been able to even remotely get the info/links put together in any semblance of organization, but a few of these pieces just absolutely needed to be put out here now.

So, as a success story I would like to report that as of today after sending to the Vice President of the alleged Chase Bank ( who just happen to send me a letter in May with his name and signature on it to sell my home in foreclosure) was a Determination of Funding Letter, 1 Courtesy Notice and 2 invoices totaling 9,000 pieces of 99.9 silver, I received today a letter from the alleged Chase Bank that the lien on my mortgage has been released and discharges the original contract, whereas I am now responsible for the property tax and insurances, and can do what I dam well please with what I want to do with it. 

This was a wonderful and fun exercise in which in my heart was the right thing to do to show others that what was being done to all of us was wrong. I needed to take a stand here in Detroit as I watched neighborhoods and communities being torn apart and become inhumane as people were being forced out of their homes, their furnishing thrown in the street and in dumpsters, causing some beautiful homes to be victims of vandalization, with property values dropping like flies, and mortgage payments going through the roof with LIBOR the ARM’s deal The home’s stood empty and all the love was torn from the structures. 

What could I do?

With the tools that were given to us by the OPPT crew II used them all, Courtesy Notices, The Determination of Funding letter, the invoices, the court templates etc, I edited them and used them sending all the love and light I could to float above and through each word, with good intent to bring awareness to every person whose eyes read it, and whose heart it may touch. 

I am now going to open a Dream Weavers Center to help and show as many people who have eyes to see and ears to hear where their value is, as we are the value and always have been, but it was never taught but was hidden so very well.

Many of the people of family and friends who thought I had lost my mind, want to now join in to see what is going on with formerly OPPT now I/UV to Opt out of the old slavery system and it is done. I say come one come all we are in for another ride but this time there will be more of us. We are Eternal Essence Embodied absent limits !!!!! (*)

(Financial Times) -- Barclays has revealed a £12.8 billion ($19.6 billion) hole in its balance sheet as it announced a £5.8 billion rights issue, buttressed by a plan to shrink its balance sheet and issue £2 billion of contingent convertible debt.

Seriously?!  Can anyone even remotely translate that sentence into something that is understandable (let alone LEGAL).  I loved this part though- are you ready for this?

"Alongside the capital measures, the bank announced £2 billion of fresh mis-selling provisions, £1.35 billion to cover PPI and £650 million to cover interest rate swaps.

"JUHASZ: Yeah, there's been a long, very public fight, first started by the Bush administration, on behest of the oil companies that basically operated both within and without of the administration to utilize the invasion of Iraq as a way to open up Iraq to Western oil companies, which haven't been able to operate in Iraq since the 1970s nationalizations. And there were two methods that were pursued to do that.

One was to get the Iraqis to pass a new national law, the Iraq oil law, that would lock in guaranteed market access, under incredibly lucrative terms to foreign companies, to foreign companies--basically, transition Iraq from a nationalized oil system to an all but privatized system. The fight over that law has been very public, and there has been great opposition to it by Iraqi parliamentarians, oil workers unions, civil society groups, people all around the world. And that battle is ongoing. At this very moment, the Iraqi Parliament is still debating trying to get law through, and still has been unable to do so.

While that public process has gone on, a much quieter process has proceeded, which is a contracting process, a series of rounds opening up, contract by contract, new oil fields in Iraq to foreign companies. And this process has taken place using contract terms that are essentially the same as what is in the law, but in--contract by contract."

Unfortunately the US "Advisors" (controllers) made sure that directly written into the Constitution was a grandfather clause to insure that NO contracts signed during the occupation of Iraq (ie: selling off all Iraq's assets, commodities and mineral rights) could be over turned by any future Iraqi government!!  Nice, eh?

Dr Zalloum added that he believes western oil companies have successfully acquired the lions' share of Iraq's oil, "but they gave a little piece of the cake for China and some of the other countries and companies to keep them silent"."

...note that he doesn't mention any Iraqi companies nor the Iraqi government

"To further embed a U.S. corporate economy in Iraq, the Iraq Constitution contained provisions that approve the Bremer Orders. The new Iraqi Constitution specifically repealed the Transitional Administrative Law, but did no such thing for Bremer’s Orders and therefore they continue to be the law of the land. Thus, U.S. corporations continue their hold on the reconstruction of Iraq, and U.S. contractors continue to have full immunity from prosecution in Iraq. Beyond that, several articles of the Constitution re-enforce the Bremer Orders, e.g. Article 25 requires "modern economic principles that insure the full investment of its resources, diversification of its sources and the encouragement and development of the private sector; Article 26 "guarantees the encouragement of investment in various sectors," Article 27 allows for the privatization of state property. Juhasz points out that modern economic principles means corporate globalization and the market principles of the Bremer Orders, and private investment means foreign investment.

The method being used for U.S. control of Iraq’s oil is Production Sharing Agreements. PSA’s favor private companies at the expense of exporting governments as the entire exploration, drilling and infrastructure-building process are turned over to private companies in contracts that last twenty-five to forty years. These contracts lock in the laws at the time the contract is signed. Thus contracts signed now would have the Bremer Orders as their law no matter what a future Iraqi government did......

Interim Prime Minister Allawi submitted guidelines for Iraq’s new petroleum law in September 2004. The guidelines put "an end to the centrally planned and state-dominated Iraq economy" and urged the "Iraqi government to disengage from running the oil sector." Further, he recommended privatization stating the industry "should be exclusively based in the private sector, that domestic wholesale and retail marketing of petroleum products should be gradually transferred to the private sector, and that major refinery expansions or grassroots refineries should be built by the local and foreign private sectors." Finally, Allawi called for all undeveloped oil and gas fields to be turned over to private international oil companies. This, at a time when only seventeen of Iraq’s eighty known oil fields have been developed. Article 109 of the Iraq Constitution re-enforces this goal stating that the federal government only administers existing oil and gas fields. The plans for a new Iraq petroleum law were made public at a press conference in Washington, DC by Adel Abdul Mahdi, formerly the Finance Minister, and now a Deputy President of Iraq.

People Like Us

The very words in our language are constructed to perpetuate the system of control for which we were created.  In a court of law or in a classroom you are asked repeatedly “Do you understand?”  Consenting verbally, with a “yes”, declares that you “stand under” whoever did the asking and whatever was asked. 

 

The askers believe that wielding power over you increases their own.  Thus, they are threatened by any display of power they do not sanction.  They have been misled and are themselves “standing under” other askers of manipulative questions.

 

The burgeoning monetary systems, trusts and programs are external gateways for a change of control.  In an illusory world, everything seems separate from you.  All value systems that attempt to quantify something aren’t true.  They are secondary lies.  The first lie is that the value lies outside of you – you are the value.

 

Those that set up this system knew that, they were playing with creation.  You were created to serve and in order to get you to do so willingly, this system of slavery was begun.  All debt perpetuates that system.  A renunciation of current debt while maintaining a debt system is counter productive, counter intuitive and will not change a thing.  This monetary system, which is a reflection of our perceived value, will have to be unraveled from within.

 

The process of freedom needs to begin someplace inside.  A good place to start is with our words.  The whole concept of freedom has been interwoven with “another”.  It is not necessary to declare “I am free”, for that implies there is someone with more power that you’ve broken away from.  There is no other; none greater or lesser than you.  There is only ONE.  The only truth is I AM.

There is a great deal of talk about “I am the value.”  This is great, a beautiful contrast to what my dear friend calls “all victim, all the time”.  Yet even declaring yourself as a replacement for gold is limiting.  You are irreplaceable, unequalled and priceless.  There are no numbers big enough.  You are Gods.

 

Once we accept the only truth, all false representations dissolve.  Do you see? Look in your mirror and repeat “I AM”.  This world has not yet seen a population of empowered.  Let’s show them and watch what happens.

The IRS wants to the ability to yank your passport

A reader forwarded an essay by Joe Nagel from an offshore ex-pat newsletter which I will quote in brief.  Its another brick in the ever increasing police state we find this country becoming...

Recently, the United States Senate passed a piece of legislation called the "Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act." Essentially, this is a transportation bill. The main focus is on the construction of roads and bridges.

Title III of the act is a revenue provision concerning gas-guzzling cars, leaking underground storage tanks, import duties, and a number of other fees, taxes, and revenue enhancements.

Section 40304 is a rather bizarre provision that doesn't seem to fit in a transportation bill and that is buried so deep that few senators have probably even read far enough to get to it. (The piece of legislation overall is 1,676 pages long.)

Section 40304 is titled "Revocation or Denial of Passport in Case of Certain Tax Delinquencies." What?

The provision specifically amends the 1926 Passport Act to permit the IRS simply to "certify" to the Secretary of State that an individual "has a seriously delinquent tax debt in an amount in excess of US$50,000."

The law does not require that any hearing be held or that any administrative due process of any kind be carried out. In fact, the only requirement is that the IRS gives what is called a "Notice of Levy" to the taxpayer.

This is nothing more than the IRS's own determination that the taxpayer owes US$50,000. And, remember, while US$50,000 may sound like a lot of money, that threshold can easily be reached and exceeded by the accumulation of much smaller amounts plus penalties and interest.

The real issue is this: Do we, as Americans, want unelected IRS agents to be in a position, without judicial oversight, of unilaterally deciding whether or not we can travel?

Given that even minor IRS matters can take years to resolve and that no effective oversight or accountability of an agent exists, it is a very scary scenario to imagine the IRS being in the position to be able to determine whether or not a U.S. citizen is able to travel.

ANNOUNCER: This is the Lew Rockwell Show.

ROCKWELL: Well, what an honor it is to have as our guest today on the show, John Perkins. I think that if Hollywood weren’t so connected to the Pentagon, maybe there’d be a movie about him, staring George Clooney. But there’s not a movie because of the sorts of books he’s written, especially Confessions of an Economic Hitman that was on The New York Times best-seller list for a year and a half and translated into 30 languages. He’s also author of The Secret History of the American Empire and his newest book, Hoodwinked.

John, I want to talk to you about how you got started, what an economic hitman is, how you were approached after school by the Massachusetts consulting firm and brought into this whole business, what you did and why you got out and why you’ve led your life the way you have ever since then. So that’s — (laughing) — you can take hours to answer that question but tell us about, you know, how you were recruited, first of all, and what you were recruited to do.

PERKINS: Well, yeah, Lew, I actually was initially recruited while I was still in business school in Boston. I was interviewed by the National Security Agency — long series of interviews, lie detector tests, personality tests — and they drew the conclusion that I’d make a good economic hitman, which basically is a con artist. And they also identified three — what we’ll call weaknesses — that would enable them to kind of draw me in, to hook me, if you will. And I think those weaknesses could perhaps be classified as the three big drugs of our culture: sex, power and money. And I was a very young man and I had all of those weaknesses at the time, so that was kind of their “in.” And then after that, they encouraged me to go in the Peace Corps where I learned to speak another language and learned to get along with people in other countries. And while I was still in the Peace Corps, they continued to recruit me, and eventually I ended up working for this private consulting firm, but was trained by a woman named Claudine, who knew — (laughing) — knew all my weaknesses very well and drew upon all of them to entice me into this job, which, you know, I can only call the economic hitman.

ROCKWELL: You know, if we think of the National Security Agency for a moment, it’s portrayed as this heroic bunch of people north of Washington who are watching out for terrorists and other bad guys and protecting, you know, the homeland from all the alleged bad guys and maybe real bad guys in the rest of the world. But as you’re pointing out — (laughing) — it actually serves a very different role or at least partially a different role for the corporate state.

PERKINS: Yeah. You know, my take on both the National Security Agency and the CIA — and incidentally, since then, I’ve known a lot of people who have been pretty high up in either/or or both of those organizations. Their primary job is to further U.S. corporate interests, or let’s call it multi-national corporate interests, in fact. It’s not just U.S. based any more. We’ve got companies like Halliburton which officially are not U.S. any more.

But the CIA and the National Security Agency devote a tremendous amount of effort, money, energy to doing things that help corporate interests abroad, including making sure that those — that the right people are running countries that have resources that our corporations want, bribing them, making sure that they stay in position, and even arranging for them to be taken out of office either through coups or assassination by people that we call the jackals if they stand up against the corporations and say, OK, no more oil drilling in our country, no more mineral extraction by multi-nationals. If something like that happens, they don’t last very long.

ROCKWELL: Well, you know, if — again, this is really a Fascist state, isn’t it, the American state? Too many Americans think of the U.S. government as sort of spreading faith, hope and charity abroad when actually, no matter who is the president, who is at the top of the regime, sort of the corporate state moves on and sees itself as in charge of every other country.

PERKINS: Well, you know, Lew, I think it’s fair to say that — I believe that we're at a time in history that is unique. And perhaps it’s most similar to the time when the city-states became nations, except today the nations have become somewhat irrelevant. And presidents have become irrelevant. Where we’re at now is a global economy, a global geopolitics that’s really controlled by big corporations.

During most of my life time, we might have envisioned the globe as being this place with roughly 200 countries of which a few have a lot of power — the Soviet Union, the United Kingdom, the United States — at various times. But today, I think you might better envision this — you've still got a globe with roughly 200 countries but there’s huge clouds drifting around the planet and these are the big corporations. They know no national borders. They don’t follow any specific sets of laws. They form partnerships with the Chinese and the Taiwanese and the Tibetans, with the Israelis and the Arab countries. Whoever has the resources or markets that they covet, that’s who they sidle up to and take control of as much as they can, and so we’re really at a time in history, unlike any other, where nations have become pretty much irrelevant.

ROCKWELL: Do you mean nations or do you mean nation-states? I mean, I must say, I always think of government as being an incredibly stupid institution with people who are — just the nature of a bureaucracy is very stupid. And whenever government is doing something, virtually always for evil, some smart guys in private corporations who are — who are involved in coming up with the idea and helping bring it about. And you were brought in as a young man into this very important New England consulting firm that virtually nobody has ever heard of.

PERKINS: Well, nobody has ever — (laughing) — heard of it outside the business. But believe me, people in the business knew Chas. T. Main very well. We had about 2,000 consultants at the time I was chief economist there and one of the owners, one of the partners in the firm. We were extremely well known by the World Bank and the USAID and the National Security Agency and the CIA and others. So we were well known in those circles but not well known to the general public, by intention.

ROCKWELL: You know, if we think about the USAID, a lot of naïve people think of U.S. foreign aid as being the equivalent of charity when, of course, the USAID is actually a branch of the CIA or closely connected to the CIA, isn’t it, or the whole national security establishment?

PERKINS: Yeah. To think of USAID, the Agency of International Development, as a charitable organization is, yeah, that’s certainly totally erroneous. For the most part, our foreign aid, U.S. foreign aid, like that of most countries, is out there to serve the interest of U.S. corporations and now multi-national corporations. There are small amounts of aid that really go to helping people, particularly when there are times of catastrophe, to send tents and food and water to help people that are, you know, destroyed — their lives have been destroyed by earthquakes or by tsunamis or something, but that’s pretty miniscule and only lasts for a very, very short time. And then after that, the aid that we send in to help these countries is primarily there to help the corporations. That’s the job of USAID and the Export-Import Bank and the World Bank and other similar organizations.

ROCKWELL: I can remember when I was on Capitol Hill, working on Capitol Hill, the first time that I attended the hearings for a foreign aid bill, and one might have thought that Mother Theresa was going to be testifying – (LAUGHTER) – but, of course, it was General Electric and Westinghouse and Caterpillar and similar companies that are so close — that are part of the corporate state. I mean, they’re connected to the government in a corporatist relationship. And so –

PERKINS: What an eye-opener — what an eye-opener that was for you, Lew, huh?

(LAUGHTER)

ROCKWELL: This is our wonderful government and its adjuncts.So you started working, you say, within the — with a business that is an extremely well-known consulting firm but not certainly known as connected quite the way it was connected or is connected. Does it still exist, by the way?

PERKINS: No. Chas. T. Main was what we call a closely held corporation, roughly the equivalent of a partnership. About 5% of its employees owned the company. I ended up being one of those. And I got out about two to three years before the company basically sold itself to another big firm, another big consulting firm. And it went through some very difficult times, primarily because the president, who was a former general in the U.S. Army, bought three or four construction firms, which the company had never done before, and he bought them at the wrong time. And frankly, I’ve always suspected that there was a reason for all of that happening, that it was time for Chas. T. Main to disappear. And, in fact, it essentially did disappear. I mean, you can still find records of it but it was bought out by Parsons in Southern California, and they kept the name for a year or two and then dissolved the name. And it’s really difficult these days to even get any information on the old Chas. T. Main. Nothing was computerized in those days and it’s hard to find files. I've gone back and looked for some of them.

ROCKWELL: Very interesting. So when you were working for Main, you worked with the World Bank, with the International Monetary Fund, with the United Nations and other similar wonderful organizations on behalf of the big corporations connected to the U.S. government. What exactly did they have you do? I mean, what did your job as an economic hitman, as you so eloquently put it — you know, what did you do?

PERKINS: Well, essentially — and we did a lot of things, but I think probably the generic version — (laughing) — is that we would identify a country with resources that the corporations coveted, like oil, and then arrange a huge loan to that country from the World Bank or one of its sister organizations, USAID or Inter-American Development Bank, but the money would never actually go to that country. Instead, it would go to our own corporations to build big infrastructure projects in that country — power plants, industrial parks, highways — things that would benefit a few wealthy families in that country but not the majority of the people. Because the majority of the people couldn’t afford electricity, they didn’t have cars to drive on the highways, and industrial parks don’t hire many people anyway. So the wealthy people would benefit. Mostly, our own corporations would benefit. And then the country would be left holding a huge debt that it couldn’t repay. And at that point, we’ve basically got them. You know, they become our slave. Actually, we can say, you know, you owe us a lot of money, you can’t pay your debts, so sell your oil to us real cheap without any environmental restrictions, vote with us on a critical United Nations bill, let us build a military base on your soil.

And in the few instances where the leaders of these countries didn’t go along with us — and I talk in my books about how Jaime Roldos, the democratically elected president of Ecuador, refused to buy into these deals. He had a lot of integrity. And Omar Torrijos of Panama likewise. I couldn't bring them around. I couldn't corrupt them. In these instances, the jackals go in and they either overthrow governments or assassinate them. Both Roldos of Ecuador and Torrijos of Panama were assassinated because they didn’t buy into the deal.

Just last year, President Zelayah, a democratically elected president of Honduras, was overthrown because he wouldn’t buy into the deals that Chiquita, Dole, Kraft and Russell Athletic wanted him to buy into. It’s continuing to happen.

ROCKWELL: Tell us specifically, when you went to a country like Ecuador or Panama or Israel, other places where you were active, I mean, who specifically did you go to talk to? Where you able to get into the president’s office? Did you actually –

PERKINS: Yeah.

ROCKWELL: — have that kind of access?

PERKINS: I did. For the record, I never worked in Israel. But, yeah. You know, I got into Roldos’ office in Quito, Ecuador, and Torrijos’ in Panama. I particularly became close to Torrijos. He was a very charismatic guy. I liked him a lot, and he liked me for some reason, and we became fairly close. At least I thought we were close.

And it was a huge dilemma for me, I'll tell you, Lew, because my job was to corrupt him, to bring him around. That was my job. And I wasn’t succeeding at it. He was very stalwart. He had a lot of integrity. He used to say to me, “Look, you know, John” — Juanito he called me. This was all in Spanish. He said, “You know, Juanito, I've got plenty of money. I’ve got a good house. I’ve got everything I need. I don't need your bribes. I don’t need your loans. We don’t need that here. What I need is freedom for my people. I don’t want to buy into this.” And, you know, I couldn't bring him around. And I realized that if I was not able to bring him around, something dire was likely to happen to him, as I’ve seen happen to Arbenz in Guatemala and to Allende in Chili and Lumumba in the Congo and Diem in Vietnam and many others. We’ve seen this happen. So I was really torn because I respected the man for his integrity. Tremendously, I respected him. And yet, I wasn’t able to do my job and I feared that something would happen to him. And, of course, it did. He was assassinated.

ROCKWELL: I remember they blew up his helicopter.

PERKINS: Yeah. It was an airplane.

ROCKWELL: Airplane.

PERKINS: Yeah. It went down in the — it was destroyed. And three months earlier, the same thing had happened to Roldos in Ecuador. Almost the same plane. He had a very similar type plane to Torrijos’ and they were both brought down.

And at the time — and I know this because I’ve gotten to know Roldos’ daughter very well. She’s now a legislator in Ecuador, Martha Roldos. And she married Torrijos’ cousin. And they talk about how, when Torrijos learned of Roldos’ assassination, he called his family together and he said, “Well, listen, I’m probably going to be next.” But he said, “Don’t worry about it because I got the canal back in the Panamanians’ hands.” He had just signed the treaty with Carter. And he said, “So I really accomplished what I need to accomplish. So when this happens to me, know that I'm going in peace.”

ROCKWELL: Wow!

(LAUGHTER)

He doesn’t sound like an American politician.

(LAUGHTER)

PERKINS: No — (laughing). You’re right about that. Yes.

And I haven’t been privy to hear the — to hear of any people that talk to the American government. I’ve heard the ones at the top of other governments but not the one — not the ones that sit in the White House. I haven’t dealt with them.

ROCKWELL: You know, I know that there are a lot people who thought that things would actually be changing with Obama. Although, I must say, I always think of the president as like a new sticky face on the lapel of the suit of the oligarchy — (laughing) — and not actually an independent actor at all. But we’ve seen the exact same forces, the exact same very wealthy people — George Soros or Warren Buffett or whatever — still seem to be running things no matter who, no matter what party is in power — it certainly won’t change when the Republicans are in power — still here at home. And the empire, we have a vastly bigger operation, don’t we, than when you were in this? I mean, the NSA is far bigger, the CIA is far bigger, the FBI, who knows what other agencies that we don’t even know about that are active both in this country and all over the world in terms of a police state, in terms of the expanding American empire. And yet, at the same time, the American government is threatened by its own economic policies, by the destruction that the Federal Reserve and the other agencies of government have wrought, undermining it, all the debt and so forth. So do you think there’s reason for hope? Or are we just doomed to go down into some kind of imperialist slough of despond?

PERKINS: Well — (laughing) — God, you just said a mouthful — (laughing) — Lew. I mean — (laughing) — all of those things are happening. There’s no question. And I do have hope. And some people call me naïve, but I have hope because I think that all of these things that are happening are pushing us to the edge.

You know, I remember being on the speaking tour before Obama was elected, and I would say things like, you know, we have to be careful not to think a president is going to do too much for us. And we’ve certainly seen that. It ultimately has to be “we, the people.” I think presidents are extremely — the president of the United States is in an extremely vulnerable position. You know, he certainly can remember back — Kennedy, the two Kennedys were assassinated. A lot of other people were assassinated, physically. But in these times, character assassination is also very easy. We saw that happen to Clinton with Monica Lewinsky. We've seen it happen to a number of people that all you need to do is start a rumor about someone. It can be true or maybe it isn’t even true. And I think once somebody gets into the White House, they become very, very conscious that they're in an extremely vulnerable position.

And I think we need to understand that it’s ultimately always been “we, the people.” And right now, I think our concern has to be that over the past couple of decades we've been awfully lethargic. We've spent far too much time watching television, eating pretzels and drinking beer or whatever, and not getting off our butts and doing something. And we need to understand that in a democracy, it has to be “we, the people” and that the president at this point in time just doesn’t have that much power anyway. But “we, the people” do! These corporations that control the world are dependent on us to buy their goods and services or on our tax dollars to buy their goods and services. We must remember that. But ultimately, the marketplace is a democracy if we choose to make it that.

And I remember, for example, walking beside the Charles River when I was in college in Boston. You couldn’t walk beside the Charles River; it was so terribly polluted. And there were rivers in Ohio that were on fire with pollution, but we forced corporations to clean them up. We got rid of apartheid in South Africa by boycotting corporations that supported it. And we’ve done tremendous things. Corporations, we have to remember, are very, very vulnerable if we choose to make them such. And therefore, I’m hopeful that we can turn this thing around. But “we, the people” are going to have to make it happen.

ROCKWELL: Well, it’s absolutely true that government and the agencies, organizations and corporations that are connected to government are dependent on the consent of the governed because there are so few of them as compared to the — what John C. Calhoun called “fewer tax-eaters than there are taxpayers.” So, yes, I mean, no question that we actually have it in our hands to withdraw consent from the government itself, from the corporations that are involved in the empire. And, yes, we actually do have a — we actually have it in our hands to make serious changes, especially at a revolutionary time like this when, again, the government is undermining itself through all the vast debt. Banks are all, despite the trillions of dollars funneled into them by Bush and Obama and the Federal Reserve and so forth, they’re all extremely shaky. So this is a very interesting time.

John, just let me ask you one question before we go. How are you still alive?

PERKINS: Well, Lew, I just wanted to say I think Hoodwinked, actually my most recent book, really addresses these issues even more than Confessions does. But, yeah, I’d love to have people subscribe to my newsletter at johnperkins.org.

How am I still alive? That’s a question that comes up periodically — (laughing). And, you know, after I quit being an economic hitman, in the early ’80s, I started writing the book that became Confessions ultimately. And I contacted other economic hitmen and jackals to get their stories. And I received an anonymous phone call threatening my life and my daughter’s life. She was born in ’82. I took them seriously. I've seen what’s happened. I also got a major bribe offer. The chairman of the board of Stone & Webster, a big engineering firm that does still exist incidentally –

ROCKWELL: Yes.

PERKINS: — took me out to dinner and he said, “You know, you’ve got a great resume.” Yeah, I was chief economists at one of his top rivals. “We want to use your resume and proposals and you don’t have to do any work for us; just let us use your resume and we’ll pay you a half a million bucks, a consultants retainer fee; just don’t write the book that we know you’re working on.”

ROCKWELL: Wow.

PERKINS: I didn’t. You know, I succumbed. I took the bribe. And I have to say, in my own defense, that I put a lot of that money towards organizations that became Dream. You can go to dreamchange.org or pachamama.org, non-profits that are helping people in countries that I’d screwed. But I didn't write the book.

And then, on 9/11, I was in the Amazon with one of these organizations. But afterwards, I flew up to Ground Zero. And as I stood there looking at that smoldering pit, I knew I had to write the book. This time, I decided I wouldn't tell a soul. And I wrote the whole book. I didn't do what I was supposed to do. At that point, I’d had five other books published on indigenous people, ones that were not threatening to Stone & Webster or to anybody else. And I knew the routine: you write a proposal and you get an advance and then you write the book. I didn't do that. I wrote the whole book; put it in the hands of a very confident agent. He got it out to the major publishing houses. And at that point, until today, it’s my best insurance policy because, you know, if somebody pulls a gun on me today and shoots me — I say this facetiously — but Penguin and Random House would probably be very happy, my two most recent publishers, and the books sales will go up. They’ll skyrocket overnight from the assassination. I guarantee it. The jackals know this.

So, you know, if you're going to be whistleblower, I strongly recommend it, but don’t threaten to blow the whistle ahead of time. Get all of your — get everything in order. Get everything written down some place where everybody knows that it’s going to be available if something happens to you, and then blow the whistle.

ROCKWELL: Well, John Perkins, thank goodness you blew the whistle. I hope that others follow your example. Others have followed your example, but we need many more of them, especially in these days.

Re: Civil Disobedience, Edward J. Snowden, and the Constitution

Dear Mr. President:

You are acutely aware that the history of liberty is a history of civil disobedience to unjust laws or practices. As Edmund Burke sermonized, “All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.”

Civil disobedience is not the first, but the last option. Henry David Thoreau wrote with profound restraint in Civil Disobedience: “If the injustice is part of the necessary friction of the machine of government, let it go, let it go: perchance it will wear smooth certainly the machine will wear out. If the injustice has a spring, or a pulley, or a rope, or a crank, exclusively for itself, then perhaps you may consider whether the remedy will not be worse than the evil; but if it is of such a nature that it requires you to be the agent of injustice to another, then, I say, break the law. Let your life be a counter friction to stop the machine.”

Thoreau’s moral philosophy found expression during the Nuremburg trials in which “following orders” was rejected as a defense. Indeed, military law requires disobedience to clearly illegal orders.

A dark chapter in America’s World War II history would not have been written if the then United States Attorney General had resigned rather than participate in racist concentration camps imprisoning 120,000 Japanese American citizens and resident aliens.

Civil disobedience to the Fugitive Slave Act and Jim Crow laws provoked the end of slavery and the modern civil rights revolution.

We submit that Edward J. Snowden’s disclosures of dragnet surveillance of Americans under § 215 of the Patriot Act, § 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act Amendments, or otherwise were sanctioned by Thoreau’s time-honored moral philosophy and justifications for civil disobedience. Since 2005, Mr. Snowden had been employed by the intelligence community. He found himself complicit in secret, indiscriminate spying on millions of innocent citizens contrary to the spirit if not the letter of the First and Fourth Amendments and the transparency indispensable to self-government. Members of Congress entrusted with oversight remained silent or Delphic. Mr. Snowden confronted a choice between civic duty and passivity. He may have recalled the injunction of Martin Luther King, Jr.: “He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetrate it.” Mr. Snowden chose duty. Your administration vindictively responded with a criminal complaint alleging violations of the Espionage Act.

From the commencement of your administration, your secrecy of the National Security Agency’s Orwellian surveillance programs had frustrated a national conversation over their legality, necessity, or morality. That secrecy (combined with congressional nonfeasance) provoked Edward’s disclosures, which sparked a national conversation which you have belatedly and cynically embraced. Legislation has been introduced in both the House of Representatives and Senate to curtail or terminate the NSA’s programs, and the American people are being educated to the public policy choices at hand. A commanding majority now voice concerns over the dragnet surveillance of Americans that Edward exposed and you concealed. It seems mystifying to us that you are prosecuting Edward for accomplishing what you have said urgently needed to be done!

The right to be left alone from government snooping–the most cherished right among civilized people—is the cornerstone of liberty. Supreme Court Justice Robert Jackson served as Chief Prosecutor at Nuremburg. He came to learn of the dynamics of the Third Reich that crushed a free society, and which have lessons for the United States today.

Writing in Brinegar v. United States, Justice Jackson elaborated:

The Fourth Amendment states: “The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.”

These, I protest, are not mere second-class rights but belong in the catalog of indispensable freedoms. Among deprivations of rights, none is so effective in cowing a population, crushing the spirit of the individual and putting terror in every heart. Uncontrolled search and seizure is one of the first and most effective weapons in the arsenal of every arbitrary government. And one need only briefly to have dwelt and worked among a people possessed of many admirable qualities but deprived of these rights to know that the human personality deteriorates and dignity and self-reliance disappear where homes, persons and possessions are subject at any hour to unheralded search and seizure by the police.

We thus find your administration’s zeal to punish Mr. Snowden’s discharge of civic duty to protect democratic processes and to safeguard liberty to be unconscionable and indefensible.

We are also appalled at your administration’s scorn for due process, the rule of law, fairness, and the presumption of innocence as regards Edward.

On June 27, 2013, Mr. Fein wrote a letter to the Attorney General stating that Edward’s father was substantially convinced that he would return to the United States to confront the charges that have been lodged against him if three cornerstones of due process were guaranteed. The letter was not an ultimatum, but an invitation to discuss fair trial imperatives. The Attorney General has sneered at the overture with studied silence.

We thus suspect your administration wishes to avoid a trial because of constitutional doubts about application of the Espionage Act in these circumstances, and obligations to disclose to the public potentially embarrassing classified information under the Classified Information Procedures Act.

Your decision to force down a civilian airliner carrying Bolivian President Eva Morales in hopes of kidnapping Edward also does not inspire confidence that you are committed to providing him a fair trial. Neither does your refusal to remind the American people and prominent Democrats and Republicans in the House and Senate like House Speaker John Boehner, Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, Congresswoman Michele Bachmann,and Senator Dianne Feinstein that Edward enjoys a presumption of innocence. He should not be convicted before trial. Yet Speaker Boehner has denounced Edward as a “traitor.”

Ms. Pelosi has pontificated that Edward “did violate the law in terms of releasing those documents.” Ms. Bachmann has pronounced that, “This was not the act of a patriot; this was an act of a traitor.” And Ms. Feinstein has decreed that Edward was guilty of “treason,” which is defined in Article III of the Constitution as “levying war” against the United States, “or in adhering to their enemies, giving them aid and comfort.”

You have let those quadruple affronts to due process pass unrebuked, while you have disparaged Edward as a “hacker” to cast aspersion on his motivations and talents. Have you forgotten the Supreme Court’s gospel in Berger v. United States that the interests of the government “in a criminal prosecution is not that it shall win a case, but that justice shall be done?”

We also find reprehensible your administration’s Espionage Act prosecution of Edward for disclosures indistinguishable from those which routinely find their way into the public domain via your high level appointees for partisan political advantage. Classified details of your predator drone protocols, for instance, were shared with the New York Times with impunity to bolster your national security credentials. Justice Jackson observed in Railway Express Agency, Inc. v. New York: “The framers of the Constitution knew, and we should not forget today, that there is no more effective practical guaranty against arbitrary and unreasonable government than to require that the principles of law which officials would impose upon a minority must be imposed generally.”

In light of the circumstances amplified above, we urge you to order the Attorney General to move to dismiss the outstanding criminal complaint against Edward, and to support legislation to remedy the NSA surveillance abuses he revealed. Such presidential directives would mark your finest constitutional and moral hour.

Choosing your earth

Every so often I stick my toe in the deep end of “popular” culture just to gauge its relevance.  Feeling especially reckless, I may go as deep as to read the Reddit comments or listen to call in AM radio shows. In the midst of one such dip today, a sudden thought appeared “We are already living on more than one earth.”

I’ve been holding out for one catalyzing event and a split.  What I see today are many splits and multiple events.  Perhaps we’ll all experience a singular, life altering moment, yet right now we are in the midst of a seamless, rapid, inescapable shift.  I’ve crossed over and there is no going back.

Violent conversations about the adultery of Clinton vs. the sexting of Weiner hold no fascination.  I am not afraid of our government or law enforcement system, I am outraged.  I no longer hold any definition of a “good” person – I see us all as One.  Good or bad hold no meaning in regards to a person’s value. 

The cool thing is, as everyone becomes okay in my world, so do I.  I discover this tender, gradual, awareness that we are all perfection – fat, skinny, homeless, wealthy, banker, lawyer, teacher, clown, fisherman or protester – I’ve been every one.  To embrace oneness means unconditional acceptance.  Agape is the only response I hold.

Now for years this has been the subject of this blog, yet today it feels somehow solid.  Maybe that’s what the prophecy of 2 Earths means.  The absolute conviction of universal love defines everything around you.  The firm belief in right, wrong, good, bad, slave or owner sets parameters and divisions that are visible.  Both view points are firming up.

There’s been a reference to 2013 as being similar in pattern to the course of a pregnancy.  By the 9^thor 10^th month our new earths will be born.  I’m not a prophet yet I see everyday my truth manifest before me.  There was a time I stayed away from others with different values.  No longer.  Life right now is full of everyone that’s ever been there and includes all points of view.  The change now is my own conviction.  I don’t have to be right.  I have to be me.  That’s a huge difference.

Barry Neil Kaufman wrote a wonderful book called “Happiness is a Choice”.  So is suffering.  There’s a 100% chance I’m living the life I’ve chosen and so are you.  How we each feel about it is completely personal.  We can either suffer or smile.

The last two blogs have been about kiri campbell.  Stories of her meditating in her jail cell and completing her speech in the courtroom without anger are breathtaking… She is not suffering.  She is engaged in the direction of her self chosen life; getting out of it every bit of flavor she intended.  I wish the same for all of us.

We do not have to suffer.  We have to choose consciously.  As we construct our days we’ll build a life of clarity, peace, celebration and agape.  We’ll create the world we’ve been dreaming of with each moment, every “yes” and all of our light.  The new earth already resides in our hearts and when we connect we glimpse it in each other’s eyes.  That’s when we breathe deeply and remember what we came to do.

We are the one’s we were waiting for.

Unfortunately those run by WEBROOT block blogs like mine as being malware. U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron announced Monday that British Internet service providers (ISPs) must install porn filters and require customers to opt-in for adult content. Cameron said the policy is aimed at combating child porn and the “corroding influences” of sexual content in the U.K., but several people are unhappy with the plan. Reports have linked the filters to controversial Chinese company Huawei, and others have found that the filters will block much more than just porn. Some ISPs have publicly refused to force the filters on their users.

The Open Rights Group spoke with several ISPs and found that in addition to pornography, users will also be required to opt in for any content tagged as violent, extremist, terrorist, anorexia and eating disorders, suicide, alcohol, smoking, web forums, esoteric material and web-blocking circumvention tools. These will all be filtered by default, and the majority of users never change default settings with online services.

One U.K. ISP, TalkTalk, already has “The HomeSafe System,” which was singled out for praise by David Cameron when announcing the new policy. It gives another good idea of the kind of Internet censorship the British government is looking to implement.

More troubling is the revelation that HomeSafe is actually operated by Huawei, a Chinese company that both the U.K. and the U.S. accused of having close ties with the Chinese government. Huawei’s founder, Ren Zhengfei, is a former officer of China’s People’s Liberation Army, and a recent report by the Intelligence and Security Committee said, “the alleged links between Huawei and the Chinese State are concerning, as they generate suspicion as to whether Huawei’s intentions are strictly commercial or are more political.” The U.S. has branded Huawei a threat to national security.

Huawei denies any connection, and says it is being unfairly scrutinized for being Chinese. The testing center used to operate HomeSafe is based in the U.K., which Huawei says is operated with security and integrity.

ISPs will be able to use whatever filter system they like, so many may not choose to be associated with Huawei. Others are refusing to take place in the filters at all.

“Sorry, for a censored Internet you will have to pick a different ISP or move to North Korea,” Andrews & Arnold, a U.K. ISP, said in a statement. “It is not our role to try and censor what you do with the Internet.”

“It is your responsibility to stick to the laws that apply to you. We have no intention of putting in place any censorship systems or using censored transit feeds.”

The company argued that porn filters will not solve the problem of child pornography and will only create new problems. The ISP said filters will slow down connections and incentivize underground networks and encryptions that make it even harder to track criminals. The company also noted the idea of a slippery slope toward censoring non-pornographic material.

But if HomeSafe and the ORG report are any indication, Cameron censoring non-pornographic material that offends more conservative members of society is already a part of the plan.

I am not sure the context of this, but perhaps Homeland Security has confused its mandate with that of ASCAP?  If anyone else knows what this is about let me know... -AK

The Department of Homeland Security (An agency enacted through the Patriot Act) is now demanding through enforcement from The State Fire Marshalls that ALL LIVE MUSIC PLAYED IN THE UNITED STATES MUST HAVE A PERMIT FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY.This is an outrage to freedom and the ideals of The American people and our quickly evaporating rights.

This is just the start to the reality of what The Department of Homeland Security is going to do to the American citizens. The DHS is actually saying it is illegal to play music or operate a business where music is played for any reason without paying The Department of Homeland Security, and giving them much personal and private information. If The DHS can regulate the performance of a song where do you think they will stop? The fact is they won’t!

The Department of Homeland Security does not have the jurisdiction to enforce laws in The United States. They have purposefully and misleadingly attached themselves to The Fire Marshall to circumvent American constitutional rights and automatically give themselves jurisdiction in every business in The United States. This is enforced through the Fire Marshall’s inspection of commercial public businesses.

Please stand with me, American Citizens everywhere, and business owners in demanding that we will not allow The Department of Homeland Security in our businesses and homes. We need all US Citizens and our elected officials to stand united against the unlawful abuses of The Department of Homeland Security and this increasingly fascist government. The Patriot Act is the only reason The Department of Homeland Security has any jurisdiction. This is intentional. This is the first bold and aggressive move by them. Please stand with us! Our children and grandchildren need us!

Injustice, The ‘For Profit’ Court System

Injustice, the ‘for profit’ court system

Look familiar? Look closely, the characters should remind you of recent Hollywood theatrics.

Apparently it matters little what country or jurisdiction the injustice stems. It is pervasive.
It is the paradigm of a broken system and the catalyst for change.

The alphabet soup trolls trashed the momentum of change like The Occupy movement, Egypt, Arab Spring.    OPPT got the ball rolling again  last year on filing UCC documents that foreclosed on the broken  ‘system’ of Injustice,  yet the trolls are hard at work to destroy that energy.

Now avatars are flying in on red beeshons of Spirit. It is called the Human Spirit. It is called courage in the face of adversity. One such avatar, Miles Julison,  known to the  I/UV ground crew, was kidnapped in January and in never faltering on asserting his rights was miraculously released in May only because of that.  He knows who he IS!  It was certainly no action on the part of the court appointed public defender who takes credit.

I urge you to find your voice and support him.  He and others in similar situations have the heart of an Avatar.

However, the wheels of injustice continue to roll despite this avatar’s herculean effort to keep up for the record who he is and is now coming up for trial next week. You see, the prosecutor cannot afford to lose. That is loss of money and gain of liability for the cost of the case. Courts are not halls of justice, they are banks (Black’s law Dictionary) and business models.

I was there in court to watch the hearing the other day. I was riveted for seven hours of the theatrics, while others in the back fell asleep from the babbling attorneys.

One does not learn these theatrics in law school; this is something one gets on the job.  Though I chose to not finish law school with a JD, I settled for a masters in Law and Ethics instead. I chose not to go the way of the BAR.  My Spirit protected me from that fate.

I settled for an out-of-state university that I had to commute to, which has a decent law school and a program that allowed me as the first woman to graduate from their pilot program on law and ethics. I had great law professors. It is how and why I knew what was going on in the courtroom.

My perspective in this post is my opinion on what I observed that long grueling day. All players, except for Miles, were bulldozing forward to prosecute his fiction as though it was the live Being.  He refused to acknowledge that he was anything other than who he is. He was ‘off script”. It annoyed the hell out of all of them. We all know we are Eternal Essence Embodied, or as the pope declared, Divine Spirit Incarnate. Get the picture?

The avatar Miles, endures what Kiri has yet to suffer, as her journey is just beginning and hitting Matrix nerves.  His duress has been quietly ongoing for over 42 hearings and pretrial in less than two years. In his wisdom, to his credit he did not seek publicity and therefore any negative feedback. Brian’s blog of July 19th spells it out in an interview with Gwen and Ryan.

He can now use your voice of support! It is time.

It is critical not to focus on what the charges are against him. That does not matter as much as the blatant disregard for the living being over the fiction. I can tell you it was clear to me in the courtroom babble that he didn’t harm another person. Despite Mile’s submitted discovery questions, Show Cause filing, and other requests, there is nothing on record sworn under the penalty of perjury of any ‘alleged’ injured party as of this post as far as  I know.

It is fascinating to watch how the actors are proceeding against his fiction as though it is his Living BEing, divine Spirit incarnate, or Eternal Essence Embodied with live blood coursing through his veins. They are desperately trying to make it seem as though the fiction and the live being are the same. They are compelled to it to show justification for what they do.

It is happening in New Zealand too. it happens almost everywhere. It is the old paradigm of the controllers.

Don’t you get it?

These are actors in full costume in the theater of court. it is their job, their business to put people away. Their loyalty as officers of the court (bank) is to the broken system not to the people.  It’s a money-maker on both sides of the court room. It is not about justice. It is a monetized debate session.

Proceeding without proper jurisdiction is a violation of the person’s rights. It is happens even though on record rights are preserved. It is a ‘word game’. Words are the tools; they are veils.

These courtroom actors are all straddling the fence by allowing their live embodiment become one with the [person] fiction. They expect all others to do the same; to be compliant. Those who do not, like Miles, are branded uncooperative, crazy, subject to psychological evaluation under extreme duress,  incarceration.

The prosecution is steam rolling forward in default and the court is allowing it. Is it because the playacting takes place on their stage? Of course.

Everyone faces this potential in the world we are in now. Injustice is the norm not the exception. I have a post titled “Cast the first Stone” on evil of the private prison systems.

What I found admirable as I observed the hearing is Miles’ unfaltering courage to uphold his ‘knowingness’. Whether that helped him to withstand the abuses and demonizing his character, or that  he remains in his own theater and does not under any circumstance re-contract. It  is inspiring to watch.  I’ll bet Kiri inspires others too.

I saw him stand his ground politely yet firmly even though federal marshals were called to throw him into a seat when He chose to stand and be heard. I watched the judge gavel him down and scream at him continuously as Miles voiced ‘on and for the record’, ” I  reserve all  of my unalienable rights without prejudice”, in his refusal to contract into in their theater.

It is truly humbling to see and from which to learn.

It reminds me of the movie Avatar when the bulldozer knocks over the Home Tree for the unobtainium ore buried underneath. You do realize the symbolism of that as the ‘life force’ that guarantees wealth,  the earth, as a dying planet needing it for continuation equates to what is happening to us all.
